Who I am

My name is Joseph Leo Harris, Senior. I'm 27 years old and I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio where I currently live with my wife and two children. Before discovering my love of photography, I was employed in various IT positions. Technology has always been a part of my life, I've been using computers since around 1985 and the Internet since 1993. This early exposure to technology has allowed me to adapt to the revolutionary changes that are constantly happening in the photography industry and it provides me with a unique ability to experiment with new technology and techniques for imagemaking to create something more than your average Sears Portrait Studio image.

What I do

I've chosen to make my living as a "Family Photographer". To me, this is something more than simply a wedding photographer or a portrait photographer. My goal is to create lasting relationships with my clients, to document their engagements, marriages, the birth and growth of children, all the important events that will happen throughout your family's lives.

I want to be a part of the happiest days of your lives. I want to help you remember exactly what your child looked like those first few days home from the hospital, then at three, six and 12 months old, and beyond, at Christmastime or Easter or on the first day of school. Memories fade and change, but photographs are forever.

Why I do it

I love photography. It's an art AND a science. It allows me to be creative and to work with people, indoors or outdoors in nearly unlimited situations. I'm not stuck sitting under the same flourescent lights, in front of the same computer screen, in the same row of cubicles, 5 days a week for 8.5 hours a day with 2 fifteen minute breaks. Photography is EXCITING to me.

It's true that one picture is worth 1,000 words, and I like to think that I have a lot to say.
